SAN ANTONIO, Texas – July 9, 2024

ELECTED MEMBERS HAVE BEEN SWORN INTO POSITIONS ON THE BEXAR APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR THE FIRST TIME.

Three elected members were sworn in by the Honorable Jackie Valdes, District Court Judge, at the Bexar Appraisal District Board of Directors’ July 9th meeting. They will join the five members appointed by the governing bodies of participating taxing entities and the county tax assessor-collector: Mr. Dave Gannon (Chair), Mr. Jon Fisher (Vice Chair), Councilwoman Dr. Adriana Rocha Garcia (Secretary), Reverend Dr. Ralph Barksdale, Ms. Rebecca Ruiz, and Mr. Albert Uresti, Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector.

Ms. Naomi Miller received the majority of votes for Place 1 in the May 4th general election, while Ms. Erika Hizel and Mr. Robert Bruce received the majority of votes for Place 2 and Place 3, respectively, in the June 15th runoff election.

The current appointed members will serve until December 31, 2024, and the elected members until December 31, 2026. The tax assessor-collector serves as an ex officio member.
